Low-dose birth control pills (oral contraceptives) are medications that, when taken daily, suppress ovulation and offer highly effective contraception.

〈Characteristics of Each Medication〉
Triquilar
A triphasic pill. Designed to mimic natural hormonal changes, it is widely used by those taking low-dose birth control pills for the first time.

Marvelon
A monophasic pill. As the hormone dosage is the same every day, there is less chance of dosage errors, and it can also help improve acne.

Ange
A triphasic pill, identical to Triquilar, with the same active ingredients.

Favoile
A generic drug containing the same active ingredients as Marvelon. The active ingredients are identical to Marvelon.

Take one tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day.
If you are taking it for the first time, start on the first day of your period.
For the 28-tablet type,there is no break period because it includes placebo tablets. After finishing one sheet, immediately start the next sheet.
If you forget to take a tablet, take one as soon as you remember, and then continue taking them as usual. If you miss taking tablets for two or more consecutive days, the contraceptive effect may be reduced.

Major side effects

・Nausea・Headaches・Drowsiness・Swelling・Irregular bleeding・Breast tenderness

Most of these symptoms subside within 2-3 months of starting the medication.

In rare cases, serious side effects such as thrombosis may occur. If you experience sudden leg pain or swelling, chest pain, shortness of breath, severe headaches, or any other concerning symptoms, stop taking the medication and seek medical attention immediately.

・Take the medication at approximately the same time each day.
・Missing doses consistently may reduce contraceptive effectiveness.
・Smokers, especially those over 35, should consult a doctor as they have an increased risk of thrombosis.
・The effectiveness of the medication may be reduced when taken with other medications.
・Persistent diarrhea or vomiting may prevent adequate absorption, potentially reducing contraceptive effectiveness.

The following individuals should not take this medication:

・Those who are pregnant or may be pregnant
・Those with a history of thrombosis
・Those with severe high blood pressure
・Those with migraines with aura
・Those aged 35 or older who smoke 15 or more cigarettes per day
・Those with severe liver disease
・Those with a history of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in this medication
・Those whom a doctor deems unsuitable to take this medication
