Rejuran (Skin Regeneration Injections)|Eyes, Fine Wrinkles, Skin Texture Improvement

REJURAN is an injectable treatment that promotes skin regeneration by injecting polynucleotides (PN) derived from salmon. Instead of adding volume like hyaluronic acid, it restores skin conditions such as dryness, roughness, and fine wrinkles from within. There are two types: one for overall facial skin rejuvenation (HB Plus) and one specifically for the eye area (i), which are used depending on your concerns. This page explains the progress of the effects, the differences between the two types, and how to differentiate its use from JUVEDERM.

  • Salmon-derived PN promotes skin regeneration and repair, and also reduces inflammation.
  • There are two types: one for the entire face (HB Plus) and one specifically for the eye area (i). Both can be used on the same day.
  • High water retention targets fine lines and rough skin caused by dryness
  • Typically 3-5 sessions every 2-4 weeks, followed by maintenance every 3-6 months.

What is Rejuran?

Rejuran is a skin regeneration injection primarily composed of polynucleotides (PN) derived from salmon. PN is a short fragmented component of DNA, and due to its high compatibility with human genetic structure, it is believed to aid in cell repair and regeneration when injected into the skin.

This treatment is not about adding volume like hyaluronic acid, but rather focuses on restoring the skin's overall condition. Developed in Korea, it is widely performed as an injection treatment aimed at improving skin quality.

Expected effects of Rejuran

  • Improvement of dry skin and dehydration
  • Improvement of fine lines and crepey wrinkles
  • Improvement of uneven skin texture and pores
  • Calming redness and skin irritation
  • Improvement of acne scar irregularities
  • Improvement of skin firmness and elasticity
  • Improvement of lack of firmness and fine lines around the eyes (for eye area use)

Effects vary by individual.

Recommended for those who:

  • Experience recurring dryness and skin irritation
  • Have sensitive skin and wish to avoid aggressive treatments
  • Are concerned about fine lines and lack of firmness around the eyes
  • Want to change their skin quality itself, rather than adding volume with hyaluronic acid
  • Wish to care for acne scars and skin irregularities

Mechanism of action of Rejuran

Skin regeneration by Polynucleotides (PN)

Injected PN acts on skin fibroblasts, promoting the production of collagen and elastin. At the same time, it is reported to help repair damaged tissues and suppress inflammation. A characteristic of Rejuran is that it not only "increases" but also "regulates and calms."

High moisturizing power

PN has the property of retaining several times its own weight in water, maintaining moisture levels in the injected area. This action helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines caused by dryness.

Progression of effects

Period Condition
Immediately after treatment ~ next day Small bumps (wheals) appear at the injection site. Most subside within a few hours to the next day
1-2 weeks later Skin moisture level increases, and you start to feel changes in hydration and texture
3rd-4th session (2-3 months) Noticeable changes in fine lines, firmness, and skin calmness become established
After the course is completed Many people feel the effects for about 6 months to 1 year, and maintain them with regular booster treatments

Regarding "plumpness" immediately after treatment. Rejuran is characterized by small bumps remaining at the injection site. This is temporary until the product is absorbed, and most subside and flatten within a few hours to the next day. If you have an important appointment on the same day, we recommend rescheduling.

Two types of Rejuran - which to choose?

We offer two types depending on your objective.

Rejuran HB Plus (Skin Rejuvenation) Rejuran i (Eye Area)
Target Area Full face (cheeks, forehead, mouth area, etc.) Around the eyes
Features Contains hyaluronic acid to reduce injection discomfort Designed for the thin, delicate skin around the eyes
Specialty Dryness, skin irritation, texture, pores, overall firmness Fine lines, crepey wrinkles, lack of firmness around the eyes
Price ¥23,800 (tax included) ¥21,800 (tax included)

Both can be received on the same day. A common combination is to treat the entire face for overall skin improvement and then use "i" for specific concerns around the eyes.

Rejuran HB Plus (Skin Rejuvenation, Full Face)

This type is for those who want to improve their overall skin quality across the entire face. Because it contains hyaluronic acid, the discomfort during injection is relatively mild, and it is characterized by providing a feeling of hydration immediately after treatment. It is suitable for those with recurring dryness and skin irritation, or those concerned about uneven texture and pores.

Restoring overall facial skin quality from within.

Rejuran i (Eye Area)

The skin around the eyes is very thin, and conventional preparations can easily cause bumps or lumps. Type "i" is designed specifically for this area, addressing fine lines, lack of firmness, and dryness around the eyes.

Since the eye area can be sensitive to pain, anesthetic cream is available. Please do not hesitate to ask if you are concerned about pain.

For the eye area, where age often shows, a specialized design is essential.

In addition to Rejuran, Juvelook is another injection treatment for skin regeneration. They differ in their main ingredients and specialties, so the choice depends on your concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Which is better, Rejuran or Juvelook?
A. They specialize in different areas. Rejuran excels at skin regeneration/repair and inflammation suppression, making it suitable for dry skin, rough skin, fine wrinkles, and delicate areas like around the eyes. Juvelook is highly effective at promoting collagen production and is excellent for improving pores and elasticity. If you want to "restore your skin's condition," Rejuran is a good choice. If you want to "improve your pores and elasticity," Juvelook is the way to go. Sometimes, a combination of both is used.
Q. What is the difference between HB Plus and i?
A. HB Plus is for overall facial skin improvement and contains hyaluronic acid to reduce irritation during injection. Rejuran i is specifically for the eye area, designed for the thin and delicate skin around the eyes. If your main concerns are fine wrinkles and lack of firmness around the eyes, choose Rejuran i. If you want to improve overall facial dryness and boost skin quality, choose HB Plus. You can also receive both on the same day.
Q. Is it painful?
A. There is a sharp stinging pain upon injection and a dull, heavy sensation. The skin around the eyes is particularly thin and sensitive, so anesthetic cream is available. Please do not hesitate to ask if you are concerned about pain.
Q. Will I swell immediately after the treatment?
A. Small raised bumps (wheals) will appear at the injection sites, giving a slightly puffy appearance. This is a characteristic of Rejuran, and in most cases, they will subside and flatten within a few hours to the next day. If you have important plans on the day of the treatment, we recommend rescheduling.
Q. How many sessions does it take to see results?
A. Many people feel increased skin hydration after just one session, but multiple sessions are needed to achieve lasting results. We recommend a course of 3 to 5 sessions every 2 to 4 weeks, followed by maintenance every 3 to 6 months. As this treatment promotes skin regeneration, changes will be gradual.
Q. How long do the effects last?
A. Many people experience the effects for 6 months to 1 year after completing a course of 3-5 sessions. Regular maintenance can help maintain the condition. Individual results may vary.
Q. Are there people who cannot receive this treatment?
A. Individuals with allergies to salmon or other seafood cannot receive this treatment, as the main ingredient of Rejuran is derived from salmon. Additionally, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, those with infections or inflammation at the treatment site, and those with keloid tendencies cannot undergo the procedure. If you are taking anticoagulant medication, please consult us in advance.
Q. Can it be combined with other treatments?
A. Yes, it can. It is often combined with botulinum toxin injections, chemical peels, and intravenous therapies. However, for laser treatments or strong chemical peels, please wait approximately 2 weeks after the Rejuran treatment. For combination with Juvelook, we will plan based on your skin condition, so please consult us.
