This is a live vaccine that prevents the onset of chickenpox (varicella). It is also recommended for adults who are unsure of their history of infection or vaccination as children.

Indications

It prevents the onset of chickenpox with a high degree of certainty. Since unvaccinated adults who have not had chickenpox are more likely to develop severe symptoms if infected, vaccination is important for those without antibodies.

Precautions for use


As this is a live vaccine, it cannot be administered to pregnant individuals. Pregnancy should be avoided for two months after vaccination. Please ensure an interval of at least 27 days between this and other live vaccines.

Contraindications - Who Should Not Use

Individuals who are pregnant, have a clear fever, are suffering from a severe acute illness, have a history of severe allergic reactions to any ingredient in this product, or are immunocompromised.
