Doxy-PEP (Doxycycline Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) is a method of preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea by taking doxycycline after sexual activity.

When taken within 72 hours after sexual activity,

・Syphilis: approx. 87%
・Chlamydia: approx. 88%
・Gonorrhea: approx. 55%

reduction in the risk of infection has been reported.

Doxy-PEP is not a medication to prevent HIV. If there is a risk of HIV infection, consider using it in combination with PEP.

The preventive effect decreases with time, so we recommend taking it as soon as possible after sexual activity (ideally within 24 hours, and no later than 72 hours).

Efficacy

Doxy-PEP is a preventive method that reduces the risk of infection when taken within 72 hours after sexual intercourse:

・Syphilis: approximately 87% reduction
・Chlamydia: approximately 88% reduction
・Gonorrhea: approximately 55% reduction

Doxycycline inhibits bacterial growth, thereby reducing the risk of developing sexually transmitted infections.

How to take

Take 200 mg (two 100 mg tablets) once within 72 hours after sexual intercourse.
It is recommended to take it within 24 hours if possible.
Take with a glass of water, and do not lie down for about 30 minutes after taking it.
If you are taking PEP, take Doxy-PEP approximately 2 hours after taking PEP.

Precautions for use

・Do not take with milk, calcium, iron, or magnesium supplements; allow at least 2 hours between doses.
・Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking.

・DoxyPEP does not prevent HIV.
